Physical Science Class (08/14/08)
The purpose of this activity was to show why it is important to have standards of measurement. Each group of students built half the support for a bridge using units such as span and cubit that were dependent on the size of their bodies. Therefore, when two halves of the bridge were brought together from different groups, they didn't go well together because each group used different sizes for these measures.
